The Samsung Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone,
which was launched during the MWC 2014 event in February,
will reportedly receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update starting from
December this year.
According to a report citing sources close to Samsung's plans, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 might take up to a full month to finish rolling out to every handset worldwide. The exact roll-out dates of the update were not mentioned by the Sammobile report.
Notably, Samsung officially hinted the Android 5.0 Lollipop update was due for the Galaxy Note 4, with a Twitter post earlier this week.
Recently, HTC and Sony had also confirmed which of their devices will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. While four of HTC's smartphones will be receiving an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop officially, Sony announced that the entire Xperia Z lineup will be updated to the new OS version.
A report on Monday claimed that HTC's list of devices for the update could be longer than it announced on Twitter. Other than HTC One (M7); HTC One (M8); HTC One mini, and HTC One mini 2, the Android 5.0 Lollipop will allegedly make its way to the HTC Desire Eye, HTC One (M8) Dual SIM, HTC One (M7) Dual SIM, HTC One (E8), HTC One (E8) Dual SIM, HTC Butterfly 2, HTC Desire 816, HTC One Max, and HTC Butterfly S handsets.
