Microsoft has posted more details about the rebranding of Nokia to Microsoft Lumia on the Nokia Conversations blog.

Following an announcement on one of Microsoft's regional social channels, the company has posted an interview of its senior vice president marketing for phones at Microsoft, Tuula Rytila on its blog. of Rytila informs that a Microsoft Lumia device will soon see the light of the day, however, she did not specify a timeline for the launch. "This is of course a natural progression as all devices that once came from Nokia now come from Microsoft," she said.

She said the company's global and local websites were going through a transition and in the coming days its social channels will get a new name. The rebranding would be extended to devices, packaging and retail, which means Nokia stores would soon be rebranded to Lumia outlets.

She also clarified that Microsoft will continue to sell and support the Nokia Lumia phones that are out in the market and will continue to honour customer warranties.

Also, Microsoft will continue to sell feature phones under the Nokia brand.

Although Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia's handsets division was completed in April for $7.2 billion, we've still seen devices released under the Finnish brand over the past several months. The company's recently launched Lumia 730 and 830 phones sport Nokia branding but it's believed the two devices are the last ones to carry that name.

It's worth pointing out that Nokia still exists as a brand and a separate company based in Finland that focuses on location based services including Here maps, and network equipment. Nokia had agreed to not make a smartphone or phone carrying the Nokia brand till the end of 2015.
