OnePlus opened OnePlus One pre-orders on its new system for the first
time on October 27,
however, due to several difficulties in that 1 hour of pre-booking, the
company says it will again offer users a chance to pre-order the
handset on November 17, at 3pm GMT.
As mentioned in a company blog post, the new pre-order window was scheduled because users faced difficulties while ordering the handset on Monday. OnePlus says it is addressing the issues, aiming to make the next window glitch-free.
As per the post, OnePlus servers, despite being doubled in capacity on October 27, faced several problems that prevented users from signing-in and pre-ordering the One smartphone. Other glitches experienced included Canadian customers being labelled under United States, customers accidentally ordering two handsets instead of one, while some customers did not receive the order confirmation mail.
For November 17, OnePlus says it will enable more servers to execute the process smoothly and will also get some time in hand to refill their inventory. The exact length of the November 17 pre-order window has not yet been confirmed.
OnePlus recently announced that since India is a new market, it would like to minimise the risks at launch. As a result, the company will introduce an India-specific invite system for those looking to order the OnePlus One smartphone.
The firm added that Indians will have enough chances to earn invites, either through the forum or through its social media channels.
OnePlus will also be working with local partners, as hinted by the company's job listing for "General Manager - India, Operations" a few months ago. The exact India release date for the OnePlus One smartphone has not been confirmed yet.
